Xena Networks Emerges as Ethernet Test Equipment Entrepreneurial Company of the Year
Frost & Sullivan Award Recognizes Outstanding Entrepreneurial Achievement

Copenhagen, Denmark, August 24, 2010 – Xena Networks ApS, today announced that the company has been presented with the Frost & Sullivan “2010 Global Gigabit Ethernet Test Equipment Entrepreneurial Company of the year Award”. The Frost & Sullivan Award recognizes Xena’s achievements in addressing key deficiencies in the test equipment market; namely, the need for Ethernet test solutions that are affordable and easy-to-use in a wide range of applications.

“Xena Networks is the quintessential example of a company that exhibits entrepreneurial spirit. The company focuses on building high performance traffic generation and analysis products with a unique price/performance advantage”, said Prathima Bommakanti, Senior Research Analyst in Frost & Sullivan’s Test and Measurement practice. “Xena was founded in 2007 with a mission to deliver Ethernet test solutions with a market-leading price/performance value proposition. At that time, we could see that the economics of Ethernet were nowhere reflected in the pricing of commercially available Ethernet test equipment”, said Jacob V. Nielsen, CEO of Xena Networks. “So we set out to address this deficiency in the market. And now, it is highly gratifying and a surprise accomplishment for Xena to be recognized by Frost & Sullivan for our entrepreneurial instincts and strategic choices”, continued Mr. Nielsen.

“The company’s strategy is one of the most important facets of its long-term plan of action. Xena started their channel partner recruitment in Europe in 2008 and has increasingly invested energy and resources in this program to competitively position their test solutions. This approach is anticipated to provide commendable growth for the company in the coming years”, notes Bommakanti.

“Recognised for offering a line of high-performance, low-cost Ethernet traffic generation and analysis platforms that scale from 1Mbps to 100Gbps, the company offers value added services through the channel partners who sell its products and the eco-systems partners who develop joint solutions based upon the Xena wire-speed hardware platform.”

"Significant technical challenges must be overcome to engineer scalable, wire-speed test platforms that are easy to use across a wide range of applications at a low cost”, said Hans Hurvig, CTO of Xena Networks. “However, this is Xena’s core focus from a technology perspective and we will continue to innovate in the direction of delivering high performance Ethernet test solutions at the lowest possible price” continued Hurvig.
