GlobalNOC at Indiana University Chooses Xena

GlobalNOC at Indiana University is a premier provider of highly responsive network coordination, engineering, and installation services that support the advancement of R&E networking.

When facing problematic performance issues in the networks they manage, GlobalNOC went searching for a straightforward performance testing appliance that they could be sure would not cause problems in itself. They used the XenaCompact in both 1GbE and 10GbE configurations to resolve frustrating and time consuming network performance problems when paired on opposite sides of a link experiencing problems.

From its support of Internet2's Network, to National LambdaRail's FrameNet and PacketNet, to the IPGrid optical network, GlobalNOC has become an unrivaled provider of 24x7x365 expert support for the most advanced research networks in the country.

Xena Networks is pleased to have a role in helping GlobalNOC provide the highest level of service to the communities it serves.

NORDUnet Releases XenaCompact Product Evaluation Report

NORDUnet is a joint collaboration by the 5 Nordic National Research and Education Networks in Denmark (Forskningsnettet), Finland (Funet), Iceland (RHnet), Norway (Uninett) and Sweden (SUNET) and operates a world-class Nordic and International network and eInfrastructure service for the Nordic research and educational community.

In the fall of 2009, NORDUnet completed a series of test activities utilizing a XenaCompact configured with 10GbE interfaces to an Alcatel TSS 1850 switch. This test activity provided an ideal opportunity for NORDUnet to evaluate the Xena platform in terms of its suitability for network performance characterization and baselining.

A product evaluation report was produced by the NORDUnet team and is available for download here - NORDUnet Product Evaluation Report: XenaCompact.

DANTE Chooses Xena for 10GbE Network Test Project

DANTE, based in the United Kingdom, operates the GÉANT high bandwidth pan-European research and education backbone which connects Europe's National Research and Education Networks (NRENs).

DANTE found that the XenaCompact provided a competitive price/performance proposition in a wire-speed tester that enabled them to affordably test and characterize operational nodes in their 10GbE network including transatlantic links to Internet2 in the United States.

MCNC Releases XenaCompact Product Evaluation Report

MCNC is an independent, non-profit organization that employs advanced networking technologies and systems to continuously improve learning and collaboration throughout North Carolina's K-20 education community.

As part of a cooperative test project between Internet2 in the United States and DANTE in the United Kingdom, MCNC used the XenaCompact to test and characterize various combinations of network equipment used to terminate transatlantic OC-192 circuits with 10GbE customer interfaces.

A product evaluation report was produced by the MCNC team working on this transatlantic test project and is available for download here - MCNC Product Evaluation Report: XenaCompact.
