The M1CFP100 is Xena’s innovative "tri-speed" 10/40/100G module.
It offers a wealth of L2-L3 test features, including protocol testing capture, histograms, service disruption measurements, multi-stream Ethernet generation & test and RFC 2544 benchmarking. This is augmented with 40/100G specific features such as virtual lane swapping, skewing and PRBS testing.
The M1CFP100 can be set to test 10G, 40G and 100G via a setting in XenaManager. In 100G mode it provides 1 test port (100GBASE-LR4/SR10), while in 40G mode it offers 2 ports (40GBASE-LR4/SR4) and in 10G mode it provides 8 test ports (10GBASE-SR).
Right now we're in a transition phase where companies are installing 10G while evaluating how to upgrade later to 100G. Xena's tri-speed module was designed to make life easier for test engineers, while also keeping the accounting department happy.
